TECHNICAL SUPPORT – Technical Support Specialist

PAY RATE: $16.75 PER HOUR

TaxSlayer is looking for tech savvy professionals to join our tax season Technical Support team. The Technical Support Specialist position works with our TaxSlayer Pro software and assists customers with computer/hardware/software issues. Responsibilities include: assisting customers with the installation and configuration of TaxSlayer Pro products; troubleshooting networks, firewalls, anti-virus programs, and connectivity settings. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in server and network configurations, printer troubleshooting, and anti-virus and firewall configurations. High level troubleshooting, problem solving, researching, and communication skills are essential to this position.

Position Specifics
Provide technical support to customers via phone;

  • Assist customers with the installation of TaxSlayer Pro products;
  • Assist customers with configuring and troubleshooting networks;
  • Troubleshoot printers, scanners, and anti-virus/firewall programs;
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are essential

Job Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement resolutions;
  • Ability to multi-task using a variety of software programs and internal applications;
  • Ability to effectively present information to clients;
  • Ability to work extended and/or flexible hours, including weekends during tax season

Scheduling

  • Candidates must be able to work 6 to 8 hour shifts during the following hours of operation:
    • Monday through Friday - 9:00AM to 9:00PM EST
    • Saturday - 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST
  • Average hours worked per week range between 25 to 50 hours;
  • This is a seasonal/temporary position which will last until February or March of 2025

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical support/help desk environment

Additional Qualifications, Education, and Experience Preferred (Not Required)

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field;
  • Certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft, or other computer/networking related fields;
  • 25B (Bravo) or comparable military MOS;
